7. Customer Pack

7.1 Introduction

Customer Packs are essential for ensuring that all details of your custom notebook order are clear and agreed upon before production begins. Once we have gathered all your specifications, we compile a Customer Pack that includes the Proof and the Job Pack. This document provides a comprehensive overview of your order, including all relevant aspects such as specifications, proofs, attachments, and the quote. It is designed to streamline communication and ensure that everything is in order before moving forward.

7.2 Proof

The Proof section of the Customer Pack includes all the visual elements of your order. This is where you will find the design proofs for the outside and in some cases inside artwork, ensuring that everything looks exactly as you want it before production starts. Here’s what you can expect in the proof:

Outside Artwork:

  • Logo and Artwork Placement: Shows the logo and any artwork in the correct ratio, precisely placed on the notebook.
  • Cover Color and Material: Displays the cover color and material. Note that this is a digital representation meant to give you a feel for the final product and may not be 100% accurate.
  • Cover Customizations: Visuals of any debossing, foiling, or other cover customizations. We strive to make these look realistic, but they are for visual reference only.
  • External Features: Indicates the color of elastic bands, ribbons, and any other external features.

Inside Artwork: The proofs of the inside artwork will generally be the book block (i.e., inside pages) in the PDF format as provided by you. We will include the PDF of the artwork you supplied, showing the inside pages in chronological order. Ensure that your artwork is formatted with a 5mm bleed, in CMYK color mode, and at a resolution of 300 dpi.

7.3 Job Pack

The Job Pack section provides a detailed overview of all the specifications and requirements for your notebook order. It includes:

  • Specifications: Detailed parameters such as material preferences, binding style, additional features (e.g., elastic closures, ribbon bookmarks), and any specific customization requests (e.g., foiling, embossing, debossing, monogramming).
  • Quantity and Budget: Confirmation of the number of units required and the approximate budget per unit.
  • Delivery and Deadlines: Desired delivery date or deadline and shipping details.
  • Attachments: Any additional documents or files relevant to the order, available for download and review.
  • Job Quote: A detailed breakdown of the costs associated with the order, including material, printing, customization, and shipping fees.

Once the Customer Pack is ready, it is shared with you through a unique link. You can review all the information, request changes if necessary, and approve the pack to move forward with production. If changes are requested, we will update the pack and send a new version for your approval.

By providing thorough and accurate information in your Customer Pack, we ensure that all aspects of your order are clearly defined and agreed upon, leading to a smooth production process and a high-quality final product.
